The first time I saw cotton growing in a field we were in the scenic American South, traveling along a quiet rural highway on a sunny morning in mid-November. I almost missed the pocket-sized field, tucked in between houses and small businesses and lit by the early morning sun, cotton bolls swaying in the breeze and reflecting the light. Humble and beautiful.
This print is based on that memory.
This print is part of the Heron Road series – inspired by a year-long road trip along the back roads of North America.
